Who We Are

Who We Are

Welcome to Corby Kilns – where tradition meets excellence! Our family-run business has been a cornerstone in Northamptonshire for 3 generations. What began as a humble endeavour, has blossomed into a testament of shared values, dedication, and commitment to delivering all things ceramic to our community.

We specialise in the sales and servicing of pottery equipment and products:

  • Our shop both in store and online, is stocked with everything you need to start or expand your pottery journey, from kilns and wheels, to clays, glazes and tools.
  • Our engineering team install and service pottery kilns and equipment for educational establishments, studio and domestic use.
  • We also offer a kiln firing service, pop up pottery workshops and a community to lean on when you need it.

Bob Aves has been a kiln engineer for over 50 years, embracing countless cycles of creation, transformation, and innovation in the world of kilns and furnaces.

In 1997, Julie Aves joined the venture bringing a wealth of knowledge, creativity and vision to the newly established Corby Kilns. The husband and wife duo continued to grow Corby Kilns, with a focus on the sales and servicing of pottery equipment and products for educational, studio and hobby ceramicists.

In 2022, Corby Kilns embarked on an expansion journey, welcoming a cohort of new team members and unveiling a more extensive warehouse and shop.

A significant addition to our engineering team was Edd Price – a seasoned professional boasting extensive experience and expertise in electrical installation. Edd’s arrival has been transformative, enhancing our service offerings and introducing specialised electrical installation solutions tailored to your pottery equipment needs.

The rest of the team include:

Bob’s daughter Sarah, who joined on a part time basis to champion social media and marketing campaigns, with a keen interest in exploring new opportunities and services to offer.

Ginny, a graduate of Ceramic Design from Central Saint Martins, brings knowledge and expertise to our shop and customers. There’s not much Ginny doesn’t know, her creativity and innovation is inspiring and our customers think so too. Ginny is Edd’s partner, a pottery-dream duo.

Behind the scenes is Katrina, keeping us all in order and making us laugh equally hard. Officially, Katrina is our bookkeeper. In her error, she is far too quick, efficient and proactive, so more often than not you’ll see her re-stocking shelves, packing orders and stock taking.

We’re all in it together and strive to consistently deliver exceptional quality and personalised attention that we are dedicated to upholding.

At Corby Kilns, you aren’t just a customer; you are an extension of our family, and your satisfaction is our utmost priority.

If you have any questions, or we can support you in anyway, please get in touch.

Thank you for visiting us.
