Al2O3.2SiO2.2H2O. General purpose kaolin. Considerably larger particle size compared to ball clay or bentonite and so it's often used in combination with these to make a good cross section of particle sizes, enhancing working properties. Kaolin speeds up casting rates in slurry bodies and drying rates in all bodies. Low plasticity. Generally used in up to 50% combination with ball clays and other plasticisers. Most common glaze suspender.
